I've had the pleasure of living near this Publix supermarket for quite some time now, and it's become my go-to for quality groceries. While it's true that their prices might be slightly higher compared to other supermarkets in the area, the superior quality of their fresh meats and vegetables justifies the extra pennies.

What truly stands out is the cleanliness of the store. Each visit, I'm greeted by spotless aisles and a well-organized layout. It's evident that they take great pride in maintaining their store, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for every customer.

Additionally, the staff deserves a shoutout. They are consistently friendly, always willing to help, and seem genuinely happy to assist. It adds a personal touch to the entire shopping experience, making you feel valued and appreciated.

The store hours are also quite convenient. They open early and close late, catering to both the early birds and the night owls. And if you ever find yourself in a rush around lunchtime, their deli offers freshly made sandwiches that are absolutely delightful. Trust me, you won't regret grabbing one!

Today I went to Publix to pick up a few things. While there my children noticed snow crab was on sale and asked if they could get it. Of course I said yes. The employee named Andre asked how I was paying cash or card, I was puzzled and said I’m paying for it. Then he asked again, puzzled again I said I’m paying for it with my card. Then he said you’re getting it steamed you’re not paying for it with EBT. Instantly I thought is because I’m black. I was very offended. I brought it to the attention of the manager in that department and he kinda brushed it off and stated that it’s policy to say that and said he didn’t mean it that way. I walked away and as I was about to checkout I found 2 more managers and asked if it was policy to ask if you’re paying with EBT when purchasing seafood. They said no and didn’t seem very apologetic. I thought Publix is suppose to be shopping with a pleasure. Definitely not.

I think in every store there’s something good and something not so… this specific location he’s quite large and have everything… I see some people mentioning slow deli service and that I do agree with it…. Could be quicker, it’s not building space rockets lol… it’s clean, organized, not over crowded with stuff and pleasant to shop at…

I was literally halfway to my car. And the associate goes “excuse me miss” and I turned around and I look at her I’m like, “yes”? She says “you didn’t pay”.

What crazy accusation to say in front of other customers. I look at my phone and I have the digital Apple Pay receipt. So I go inside to show her. And she takes me to a self checkout station that has an unpaid balance. But that wasn’t the station I used.

It was a white man who used that station and walked out with unpaid groceries. Even the guy who used the station after me vouched for me and said “yeah she was at this station not that one”.

And I’m just standing there and I’m confused. so i ask “am i good to go”? And she says yes. No apology. no nothing. no “I’m so sorry for the confusion”.

To follow me outside the store and declare that I didn’t pay is insane. If yall weren’t watching me, a brown woman, so hard, maybe you would have realized it was an actual white man who walked out with unpaid groceries.

Next time, check your cameras. And unfortunately, there won’t be a next time shopping at this Publix for me.
